I had an 06 Street Glide and hated the stock bars. I bought 10" Chubbys, hated them. Then went with 12" Cyclesmiths (actually measured 13"). The knurling on the bars were shallow and flat which allowed the bars to slip out of position if I hit a hard bump. I retorqued to spec but they wouldn't stay put. Then I went with 14" Chubby Wild One's. The knurling was pointed and super sharp. I'm 5'9" and ride a fairly low seat. Those bars put my hands just below shoulder height. I really liked that set up and they stayed put. No numbness or unusual discomfort. Long haul or short, they were great. I just sold that bike with 83,000 miles on it.
Now I have a 2012 CVO RoadGlide Custom in Metallic Maple and Black. I just finished blacking it out a little more and am considering apes again. The stock height tends to cramp my neck muscles after only an hour or so of riding. I'm now considering the 14" Chubby Wild One's and possibly even the 16's. No Fear, life is too short to get old wondering what you may have missed. But you gotta pay to play.
