Tour pack squeak...
#11
Not sure how the new tour packs are set up but I had one on a 2000 UC just about drive me nuts.
Two broken luggage racks (that the tour mounts to) one broken "isolator" that mounts the speaker pods and backrest to the tour pack, two OEM hinges, and one of the clasping locks came apart.
I replaced (finally) with a re-designed luggage rack and it worked great and lasted until I sold the bike.
The dealer really screwed me on the isolators (it was on a Sunday) because I was in a hurry to get the bike back together.
If you need one (or more) of these, they sell them at swap meets for a buck or two apiece.
I put the clasp lock back together and the reason that is came apart was that the hinges had too much play in them.
I went with the "Premium" hinges, which are more sturdy and look much better than the OEM's on pre-14 model year bikes.
If your gasket is the cause of the "squeaking", try silicone before other oils or lubricants as it is less messy.
