Default Bike running rough, throwing code P0118

Hey guys, need some help.

Bike is a 2012 Limited with 55K miles that has never given me any problems.

Recently, engine light comes on and bike runs really rough for a few seconds and throws code P0118.

Code P0118 relates to the Engine Temp Sensor. I replaced the Engine Temp Sensor, and it didn't fix the issue. Somewhere I read that sometimes the Crankshaft Position Sensor causes the same code so I replaced it as well but the problem still exists.

This is an intermittent issue, bike usually runs fine, although it's happening more and more.

I've cleaned and checked the connector and pins that connect to the Throttle Body.

Don't know where to go from here, anyone had a similar issue and found the problem?

You're going to have a break in the Temp Sensor harness had the same issue with mine. The break probably won't be a visible one. I had a wire broken inside the harness itself.

Had the same exact problem on my 2011 RKC with similar mileage but after trying a number of other things, replacing the engine temperature sensor cured the problem instantly. Sorry I can't help.

Where did you find the break in the harness?

I couldn't find it. Had to take it in to the shop. They said the break was inside the insulation.

Okay, thanks, think that's my next step as well. Hate it when I can't figure it out...

At the dealer now, I couldn't find the problem.

If you don't mind me asking, what did the fix cost you?

Thanks

1/2 hour labor. It was cheaper than the $50 deductible on the extended warranty.
