Default My 1st Harley...

Well, it's taken me almost 18 years, but not only did I finally get my Harley, I think I hit GOLD. Talk about being in the 'right-place-at-the-right-time'. Here my story. I found this baby, through by brother-in-laws, wife's family. It's a 1998 Road King. The guy who owned it, bought it new in 98 and over the next 7 years, added just about every chrome option you can. Then, last year at the ripe-young age of 80, he decided to make the bike faster! The bike had 15,400 on it then. So, he had a new S&S 124 black & polished chrome engine installed, a Baker 6-speed overdrive polished & chrome tranny installed, a new Rinehart Dual Exhaust & new white-walls installed. Plus, new Halogen head & driving lights! So now all of this new setup only has 1400 miles on it. In the spring of this year, his back & legs have issues, which keep him from riding. So he decides it time to sell. So, here is my 1st Harley! So, did I do good?

Nice score! How's it ride/run?

Sheeesh, I hope I LIVE to 80yrs old, much less hot-rodding Harleys at that age.[&:]

Well, I'm taking it easy for now. Just getting use to the bike. She is smooth but she wants to go. I forgot to mention, after he had all of the new stuff put on, he had the bike dyno'd. It's 131 at the rear wheel! [&:]

Beautiful bike. I'm sure it packs a whollop! Of course, how well you did is a factor of what you paid for that new baby. How many arms, legs and first born children do you have left? Soul still intact? ;^) Guess we all better put another piece of chrome on tonight. With my cashflow right now, only way I'm gonna go faster on my 07 SG is to get someone to push!

Well, I 'think' I did good. I got her for $14K. I'm only the 2nd owner, but plan to keep her, for a Very long time. She's in good hands, as I take care of my stuff & don't mind cleaning it, ALOT!
