I want to remove the chrome center strip on my Street Glides's fuel tank and have it powdercoated. How do you remove it? I have the service manual and didn't see anything in there related other than complete tank removal. Thanks for your help!

 

look at page 4-6. console/canopy: removal.

pretty easy. did it for some wiring.


sorry that is for an 07 manual. not sure if it is the same for you. it is under the fuel systems (chapter 4) for me.

 

Open the fuel door
Take off Gas cap
Remove two allen head screws next to fill hole
Remove one screw under front of seat (Take Seat off)
Lift console off.
