2006 oil cooler gasket install leak

RE: 2006 oil cooler gasket install leak
Is the adapter between the engine and the filter a one-piece unit [P/N 26133-07](like that shown in the upper right of attachment 1) or the two-piece like the Jagg's (shown in attachment 2) unit with a gasket between the two halves? In any case which gasket in the assembly is leaking?

Are you sure it's leaking or is it just the oil from the install thats still dripping? I thought mine was leaking but after I washed the area real well with WD-40 followed by soap and water there was no more oil drips. It is really no different than an oil filter gasket and should not take to much to make a good seal.

Well because the adapter does not spin around, you tighten it up using the oil filter adapter bolt, I don't see how it could really get damaged during installation. I would say pull the oil filter off and remove the adapter to see if the gasket is damaged.

I did take the adapter bolt back out to check the gasket. It does look like I have compressed it quite a bit. 12-16 ft. lbs. isn't any tighter than the oil filter is it. I cranked the adapter down pretty hard after it leaked the first time and it's a lot thinner than originally out of the box.
