You can get the K&N whole filter kit at Auto Zone for $109.00 (alot cheeper than any cycle shop I found). [/quote]
This is sorta off the topic.. I'll keep it short. I'm picking-up a FuelPak later this week for my '07 Ultra. I noticed your suggestion about the K&N whole filter kit. When you say "whole" are you saying the filter comes with a backing plate and cover.
Thanks, Bob in Oregon

Fuel pack works great long as there is a tune value listed in the instruction book for your exact mods.

The SE kit does not stick out any further than stock. I have never looked at the back side of the stock air box but if you have already bought the filter you may see if you can cut out the Black plastic to allow for more air flow. If you have not bought the filter already I would stick with the SE stage 1 Air cleaner kit or Arlen Ness big sucker since this is what V&H uses when creating the maps.

You want part # RK-3909.
It is a complete kit.
I ordered mine Saturday amd Autozone called yesterday to say it was in!
I have the AN Big Sucker but have read some threads about the backing plate cracking. The filter is also only a K&N look alike..not the real deal. Just another fine product from China..Eastern performance is blowing them out for $80. What does that tell you!

What Jonny said! It is the entire kit except you still use your stock oval cover. It has a back plate and also a velocity stack inside. Happy with mine so far. If you just change out filters you are only getting a nice lifetime filter. No more air flow. Buy the kit, install it as directed and it looks and functions real nice. Bryan

RE: For those running V&H Fuel Pack
I just got off the phone with Erik at V&H Fuel Pack Tech Support and he said that just replacing the element with a K&N filter is fine and is all that's required for the stock map I'll be using. I understand I won't really pick up any significant hp from the air cleaner by just changing the element, but as I mentioned I'm just looking toenrichenthe mixture a little.
Thanks guys!

I ordered the Fuel Pack last night ($180 new on EBay) and will pick up a K&N element from my dealer. Don't really want to drop the $$$ for a Stage 1 air cleaner when just the replacement K&N element is 1/2 to 1/3 the cost. As I mentioned- I don't really care about any performance gains, which are minimal at best for Stage 1 mods, I just want to alleviate the lean AFR condition to improve engine longevity and reduce temps.
If I could get by using the stock air filter I would. I'm only changing elements because the V&H Fuel Pack maps are written for use with a hi-performance air cleaner...
