Went to local HD shop and ordered keys for ignition, somewhere along the way lost the one key for gas door, witch is different than ignition. Is the a trick to open this door without key?

Unless it was changed on your bike the fuel door lock is generic.

Generic? I'm not sure what you mean? Door was changed. Same type of lock ,different key...

Your new key will probably work in your fuel door as well.

And when you get it open, change it to a push button without a key. So much easier. Mine was converted before I bought it.

I know it doesn't help now, but take bike into dealer and see of they can assist w/opening fuel latch & then swap key-operated lick w/push-button. Then you'll never have to worry again about the fuel latch key.

Mike, I heard once that anybody's key will open anybody else's fuel door. Like, if you're out for a ride & need gas, just ask somebody to borrow their key for a second. I can't confirm though --- never tried it myself. Could be what "generic" means?
Edited. Just read the part about changing the lock on the fuel door. That changes things. Sorry, can't offer anything.

The only fuel door locks, that I have seen, that needed a certain key were on 2 1994 FLHTP Police Electra Glides. I bought mine brand new and the only key that will open the fuel door is the same key that is needed for the ignition and saddlebag locks,
