Default New solo seat

Looking to purchase a solo seat for my sgs. Does anyone run a cvo solo from a 15-16 cvo sg ? Is it a leather?
I see on surdyke part number 52000172 but shows no pics or details. Was looking at the diamond pattern solo on HD
online but read that the cvo seats are much more comfortable. Also cheaper than the vinyl HD seat.
Any pics or info greatly appreciated, thanks

Friend put a cvo solo on his 2015 RK, but not positive of part number. It isn't leather. Sits lower and further back; he likes it but doesn't think it's as comfortable as my corbin (which is twice the price, after all).

look at C&C seats.
Their solo is the most comfortable I've had in 40 years of riding.

the cvo seats have leather seat panels, and vinyl sides.

I've done several long rides with my cvo solo, and have noticed that after about 4 years, it isn't as comfortable as it used to be. I think the foam is 'broken down' some and not giving as much support as it used to. for a short term solution, I think it's pretty good. but, by the end of the year, I will have either a c&c solo, or a corbin.

Sorry, didn't realize seating area was leather; buddy thought it was all vinyl.

leather, just like real skins, are not what you want. Today's faux materials, and faux exotic skins, are much more durable and weather proof. The newer stuff actually is real nice, and not the cheap looking crap from the past.
I've had leather, and real exotic skins, but they are expensive and don't hold up well at all. Don't dry out very quickly either after being caught in the rain.

I have a C & C solo on order right now. Get people to deal with while figuring out what I wanted. It is going to be mercedes vinyl and smooth vinyl.

I have black gator with smooth vinyl, along with matching passenger pads in standard and jumbo sizes, along with matching passenger backrest pad.

I disagree. I would rather have real leather, regardless of nice the newer stuff is. leather breathes, and yes, it breaks in. the patina of a well used leather seat can't be beat (imo). yes, you do have to take a little more care with it, but conditioning it once a year is not really all that difficult.

I do agree though, that the more exotic skins are going to require more care and life expectancy could be questionable.

to each his own.

my comment about durability was mostly aimed at real exotic skins. However, leather is no fun after it gets wet, while waiting for it to dry out.
but like you said, to each his own.
