Im getting a rattling or vibration noise that is coming from the front of my bike. Its a 2017 flhxs. Just curious if anyonr has found anything loose on their bike that it could be. Its at lower speeds that i can hear not consistent mostly with bumps just sounds like plastic rattling. Everything ive put my hand on is tight like fearing, brake caliper, wind shield. Right now my best guess is the plastic around the oil cooler just wondering if anyone else hears these type noise. I really dont think its an issue its just kind of annoying.

 

14 SGS ..... A Tinny rattle comes from the Fuel Door push button, the lower rattle comes from the Fairing Vent Door when open. The Fairing will transfer the vibrations of the road & various parts inside will rattle to go with it, if it's not secured, it will rattle... lots of plastic & wires inside the Fairing.

 

I had the same issue until I upgraded the front suspension to Legends cartridge kit.

 

Like JCBGlide said, I have a rattle at low speed's or higher vibration times with the Fuel Door button or hinge. It took me a while to chase it down. I was able to isolate it by opening the fuel door when I hear it. I think its the hinge mechanism somehow. I haven't found a fix for it and it sure is annoying.

 

I just opened up my fairing to do some electrical upgrades...I had that rattle but that seemed to be gone after I tightened everything up... Zip tied up a bunch of the wires... might want to give that a try.

 

Thanks for the input ill try the fuel door first before i take apart the fearing. Its probably not worth taking it to the dealer for warranty they will probably say they cant hear it and charge me or something. I just feel like the amount of money i spent on it i shouldn't have a rattle.

 

When my 15 street glide was new I had a rattle in front fairing. I removed and found two bolts bouncing around in the faring. found where they went and snugged all the bolts under fairing and noise is gone.
