I have one in the garage but trust me, there is no incandescent red bulb made that is bright enough. Been there. I settled for one from Radiantz and it works very well. Smoked laydown with or without plate light. http://www.radiantz.com/category-s/920.htm

Bikers Choice Laydown Tail Lamp - License Plate for L03-Up HD Models Item # : 287463 From Fortnine here in Canada. They also use to carry a super bright red bulb part# P270359. I use it, trust me it's bright. The bulb is not listed on the website, you have to call to get it.
Also, Drag Specialties, Laydown Taillight lens, #284246.

I have been a big advocate of bright lights on my motorcycles for many years for both front and rear.

I am not taking a jab at you but I have had a few Bright *** Light brake lights and they are wicked bright, so much so that I now have a smoked lens one on my Road King.

I bought a Drag Specialties laydown smoked lens for the taillight on my '06 Road King. I also purchased a 3157R red led bulb to use with it. The Road King uses the clear upper lens of the taillight to illuminate the licence plate above it. Will the tag light now appear red instead of white? Seems this wouldn't be legal. Is there another bulb that should be used instead?
