Level ground I usually put both feet down.
Seriously, a few years ago a Goldwing in front of me stopped at a red light, a really long red light without putting either foot down. Perfect balance. Green, He just pulled away in a perfect straight line. Man, He was good!

Normal stop ill start using both brakes until about 10mph or so. After that ill go to the rear brake for the last little bit so i dont risk locking up the front wheel. Once i stop ill let the left leg down, apply the hand brake, then put the right foot down.

This what I do. It all depends on the circumstances.

Perfect!

Stop with the left down. Then put the right down most of the time.

Makes a ton of sense. Thanks for posting that.

No feet so either I'm a double amputee or I ride a trike.

I always use both brakes when stopping normally. At the last second or two I release the front brake in order to reduce the front end
dive and rebound. One foot or two depends on the situation, but always in gear and eyes on my mirrors. If riding two up, always both feet down.
One car length buffer zone between me and the vehicle ahead of me.

so is there a reason they train you to put only one foot down? Or is it just to keep you from getting the crap in the center on your foot?
