The fuel pump was replaced on mine at nearly 50000 miles u dear warranty, I don’t remember the signs of it but the same one has been in it for 9 years and at 102000 miles, no more of the issues.

If the bike cranks but ignition is sluggish and the idle erratic it might be the Idle Air Controller? Cleaning or replacement can be a remedy.

I replaced everything inside the tank at 50k. I was stalling at low tanks. MIne was definitly fuel delivery. Couldn't find a hole in hose. Myself I am not afraid to replace parts based on mileage. Plus I still look at is cheaper than bringing.

Gas sitting in a tank for periods of time can have some effect on different materials, I am looking for mine to start acting up again and when it does I will go in and do some swapping...

I would hope the materials they use in the tank can handle gas. But ya I get stuff detroriates.

I didn't a very scientific test. I just blew into the house as hard as could. I figured I took all that crap out, might as well just replace it. Granted I had the money on had to do it. I may just replace the fuel pump every 50k miles. As long as nothing big is going on in my life when it comes due. I understand stuff comes up for people. I just figure I don't want to spend the time doing it again. So I may just do filter and pump every 50, even though filter is supposed to be done at 25.

Other notes today mine took off to 2k plus RPMs. Turned off did the same thing and then came down in few seconds. Annoying when it revvs like hell in public. Then on way home it kept dipping when slowing down. Will clean IAC again, and hope that is it. Will check my log, I don't think it was all that long ago. Around 5k miles, less than 10.
