RE: roadking lowering kit
There are many theads on this one - you should be able to find lots of info if you do a search; I have the TC Products 1 1/2 lowering kit. Uses the brackets - & stock shocks. I think it was a great value, simple install - and while they don't recomment 1 1/2" kits for those that will do 2-up riding - I've done my share and only rarely get a bottom out. For anyone who does exclusive 2-up riding - I'd stick with only a 1" lowering kit.

I have an 06 sg and changed the 12" oem rear shocks for the 12" progressive 440 IAS system. The 12' rear SG shock and profile is 1" shorter than stock (13"). I just put 740 miles on the bike this weekend and really liked the rear system from progressive. Much better IMO.
Also, I lowered the front springs using the 1" lowering kit from Progressive. Very nice and makes the bike handle much better around corners.
I am 5'10" tall and always had bothfeet on the ground. The change improved the ride and the confidence in handling has improved.

I have an 07 Road King Classis.
I have a short inseam 28" and could not get both feet to touch. I ended up going to the HD dampered fork spring kit and the HD air shocks at 12". I also put the reach seat on the bike. All in all the bike rides fine andI can put both feet down, no tippy-toe. Also, Idid not have to modify my saddlebags for the off set shocks.
Good luck.

RE: roadking lowering kit
I was concerned with clearance problems with my V&H slip ons.I know the thread is old- I'm only posting for the next guy that does a search on " lowering kit clearance issues with Vance and Hinds V&H slip on exhaust mufflers". I installed the Burley White Brothers #28-274 FLH/ FLT 2002 lowering kit on my '02 Road King FLHR. When you first size it up, it looks like a lowering kit will interfere with the mufflers. Worry not, there is not an issue. THe lowering kit bolt is not even close to the mufflers once installed. THe instructions and illistration view are really bad! Just know that the round cavityencapulates the frame's original shock mount. It took me less than an hour to install. I could do it again in 20-30 minutes.
NOTE also that, before you spin the rear tire, the new nut on the shock end of the mount is pretty close to the belt pully nuts- torque it to spec before you turn the rear wheel.
