Default apehanger/cables help please?

I've got a 2006 Road King Custom with 13 inch apes on it. They were just right before I put a new seat on so the wife would have a better ride. It also sat me about 2 inches higher. I have +6inch cables on right now. I know they are long enough for 15 inch apes, but does anyone know if they are still long enough for 16 inch apes? Thanks in advance for any help.

Default RE: apehanger/cables help please?

I have 18" apes on my '05 rk custom. I used +10 cables, and they seem to be just right. With the 16", I would wager that you will need +8. I have heard of it being done with +6, so you could give it a try, but the +8 will work for sure. If nothing else, put the 16" apes on, and try them out. Most of the Indies here in NM carry +8 in stock, so before you do anything, Check locally and see if anyone has them on hand. If so, try the +6, if it is a no go, buy the +8. this way you have as little down time as you can. Then sell off your 13" apes AND cables. You would get a better price, since you are including everything a buyer would need. JMHO. Hope it helps. I just love my 18", BTW. I am 6'1". The grips come to just at my shoulder height, which makes me legal, around here, anyways.
