I was having trouble with the amount of reach required for stock RK bars at slow turn speed so I happened to sit on a 2018 Road King Special. Some people complain about the wrist angle on these but they solved my problem very well (slightly wider arm position). I bought some used ones from someone who was changing theirs out... and since they are 1-1/4" I had to buy new support studs (the PO provided the upper clamp) and you can't beat 1-1/4" if you are doing the install yourself. With a couple of tricks (I think I posted these earlier) the wiring was simple and foolproof (no pinches on the wires). I am very happy with these. I am just not built for bars that follow the fork angle it seems.

The Heritage Bars worked for me.
It occurred to me on a long ride one day that I needed a small tilt adjustment.
Works for me.
Good luck, hope you find what works for you.

I ran the Heritage Style Bars for one season after taking the stockers off....
I still had an uncomfortable wrist angle....hence my stepping into the world of 'ape hangers'.
I easily could have / should have by-passed the Heritage Style Bars, but didn't know and wouldn't have known had I not tried them.
I assume your Heritage Bars and my Heritage Style Bars easily could be slightly different, simply dedicated by different fairings.

This year, I just bit the bullet and did it all (just recently finished too!) New clutch cable, brake lines, controls, wiring, grips, and moved up to 16" apes (1.25" tube). Here's the finished product. I'm 6'4" with 27/28" sleeve and these put my hands *just* slightly above my shoulder at my 'normal' riding position (read: slouched) but if I'm upright, they're just slightly below. I've only got about 300 miles with these so far and no long trips, but I'm hoping to get into some serious riding in the next couple of weeks. They're pretty comfortable so far. We'll see how they are on distance rides!

Where did you get your wires and cables?

For the stock to 10" swap, I got some Namz wires (+8) off of Amazon and extended both sides, and used the existing plugs.

For my recent 10" to 16" swap, I got the extension wires from this seller on Ebay, and spliced them in with some crimps and adhesive heat-shrink. (I also went with new controls) They're working great 1 month in!

The cables and brakes lines I got from JP Cycles & Dennis Kirk. Both stores have worked well for me, though I've read of others who haven't had good experiences.

I see there are some 14" burlys in the classifieds. They are for TBW, so does anyone know if they will work on my 03 king?

Usually you can get a 'plug' of a sort for the TBW end for cable run throttles. I did 16" apes and I did a stainless steel braided line 'for 15 - 17 inch ape hangers', which was much more than enough (I could easily do 18's with this setup). It's an LA Choppers kit, that I got from Dennis Kirk.
