Default Aquatic AQ-MP-5BT-H Radio upgrade for 2012 Ultra Limited

My Harmon Kardon radio crapped out and I decided to buy an Aquatic unit given some feedback from others. It is going to arrive tomorrow and I am excited to install it. Based on what I have been reading, and feedback from Aquatic Tech support, my 23 pin connector will plug directly into the Aquatic unit, but the 35 pin connector will basically go unused, except the rear speaker wires will be needed and are packaged up in the 35 pin wire bundle. I need cut and then splice 4 wires from the 35 pin connector bundle to connect to the rear speakers of my Ultra Limited.

Unfortunately, Aquatic Tech Support could not tell me which wires were the rear speaker wires.

Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!!

Without having a wiring diagram, the next best option would be to use a multi-meter and check for continuity. Should be pretty easy. Just connect one probe to the wire at the speaker and start probing the connector with the other until you hear a beep.

On my 2005 ultra, the rear left wires are "solid brown / white brown", and the rear right are "solid green / brown green". For audio wiring, bike makers tend to make them the same through the years, so I thing if you see these wires on the radio harness, there is a good chance they are the good ones.

Not much help, but a service manual will tell you everything you will need to know. If will definitely get you more use than one time!

Geez, I should have thought of that. I do have a manual at home and will check tonight. However, I think I know the wire colors now to cut. Thanks

The wiring diagrams are in the supplied manual. I've been running that unit for about a year now. Love it!!

All the wires will be labeled, you shouldnt have any problems identifying what wires go where, plus the manual has a diagram. you will like this radio
