2012 Ultra Limited gps

I had 3 Harleys that I installed a Garmin Zumo GPS to with a fairing mount. It was a clean application with no wires around. Now I have it installed on the handlebars with a RAM mount even though I have the H-D built in GPS - the Garmin is a 1000% better.
You would have to buy a Garmin or H-D unit (probably a 660). Yes it was integrated into the radio.
What year is the Limited? Must be Pre 2014

I had a 2008 ultra and wanted the "look" and function of the 2012 cvo with the garmin thinking i would never be able to afford one. I went a upgraded the fairing (innerpainted) and added the Garmin Zumo 660 , interface to the radio and brow on the fairing. It was great. Fast track to today, I just traded the 2008 in last august for a 2012 CVO ultra (sapphire blue) which came stock with the Garmin GPS. I swapped my original one i has with this bike and the old due to the face I had lifetime updates on my original. So the 660 id the same as the 665 just missing the XM and weather functions. I have never had direction issues using the Garmin. hope this helps.

No, there was not an "option" for a GPS in 2012.... but....
You could add a GPS with parts available from the HD parts department.
You could buy a Garmin Zumo RoadTech 660 or 665... The Road Tech part was important.. Only the "Road Tech" versions, sold through dealers, had the software to allow for the GPS to work with the OEM sound system.. with a another option... the NIM.
The NIM (Navigation Interface Module) worked with the "Road Tech" Zumo 660 & 665. When used together, they would mute the music and you'd hear the verbal directions over the bike's entertainment system (speakers or intercom).....
The fairing mount just made for a clean install, in my opinion...
In 2012 I bought an Ultra Limited and I added the GPS. I used:
1) HD Road Tech Zumo GPS 660, #92115-09 @ $539.96 (online)
2) HD Nav Interface Kit, #76000024A @ $119.96 (online)
3) HD Zumo 660 Fairing mount, #92238-09 @ $31.96 (online)
If you have the NIM on your bike, the HD Zumo 660/665 fairing mount, and want to hear the directions over the entertainment system, then you MUST find/buy a "Road Tech" version of the Garmin Zumo 660 or 665. If you don't care about hearing the directions through the OEM entertainment system, just get any Zumo 660 or 665. If you don't have the HD fairing mount/ NIM for the Zumo 660 or 665, then I guess any Garmin GPS with the same mount as you have will work. The Fairing mount should keep the GPS charged, and if like mine, it's in a fair-to-good position for most sun conditions
After having the full system, I probably would have skipped getting the NIM and having the directions play via the entertainment system. But I have to admit, it came in real handy during a cross-country trip when I was in completely foreign territory.
Here's what the 660 & fairing mount looked like on my 2012 Limited. This pic was cruising to Aspen,Co in 2012:
