Default oil pressure or guage

2008 street glide oil gauge went from normal 30 psi to 60 psi. When I shut off bike gauge returns to between 30 and 60 psi slowly . Should'nt the gauge return to zero when the bike is off ? Is this a gauge problem or could the pressure be High? Thanks for the help

Not sure this is it but sounds to me like there's an air bubble in the line running to the gauge... I'm sure someone will correct me if it's not likely.

It could be either one......you need more info......the easiest thing to do is to buy a oil pressure test kit, I think I paid less than 20 bucks for mine online, that screws in where the oil pressure sending unit goes......mine came with about 3ft of hose so you can zip tie it to the bars and take a ride......this will help you tell if you have a bad gauge, or something else wrong like a stuck pressure relief valve, bad sending unit, etc....
