I have seena bike to which you are refering to. It was last year at a bike show here in NM. It was a metric bike, not that that makes a difference. It definately looked industrial. I didn't get a picture of it, sorry. But, yes it has been done. I talked with the owner about it. He liked that it was easy to clean, and durable. But, he also said that it added more weight to the bike, if that makes a difference to you. The whole bike was done. Where there would normally be paint, chrome, whatever, it was all bed liner material. If different is something you like, that would be the way to go.

I saw a Ultra at the Fayettevill NC HD shop a couple years ago that had all painted parts coved in the Line X coating...fairing, tank, lowers, tour pak, sadlebags...EVERYTHING. It looked like something from a Mad Max movie.

Ive had this stuff in 1 jeep tub, 2 pickup beds and I put it on my 5x10 cargo trailer last year...I LOVE IT!!!!!

BUT

It holds dirt, you cant EVER get it as clean as the day you got it. The stuff is tough as hell but the little dimples just suck in the dirt. Now a HD is not gonna get NEAR as dirty as my rock crawlin jeep but IMHO you just couldnt get it clean enough. Now I have not seen a SMOOTHER type of the stuff.....That would be AWESOME cause you just cant hurt the stuff at all!!! I've seen LOTS of Jeeps covered completely with it...Very tough stuff. I think it would be sweet to have a barhopper done like that.....definately a tuff guy look... Put a diamond plate seat on it......no brakes....that type of thing

Its not pretty and fades quickly compared to paint. It seems to be more popular on adventure bikes that take more abuse. I will probably do it to my '08 KLR650, but keep paint on the HDs.

it is a matter of function over form, it will only be attractive (if at all) for a short time, so be sure it's what you want before you do it, because like a pregnant woman, you cannot UNscrew it.
