Rear tire 2000 electra glide
#11
I have a 1990 Glide and successfully ran 130 and 140 rear tyres, although to get the 140 to work, as mentioned earlier, I trimmed the inner part of the belt guard. There is very little scope to use a spacer behind the pulley, just take a look at the running clearance between it and the swingarm, where the two of them get close. I bumped into that when struggling to make a 150 fit! I now use a later spec swingarm and wheel, to get the later narrow belt, along with the clearance for a 150 tyre. Having successfully achieved that I now run a Deuce rear wheel with 160 tyre - but that's another story!
There is even a Pulley spacer made for that SPECIFIC Application HERE ....(link of which is shown below)
A member here that I had dealings with on a Rear wheel uses the one below on his 2000 FLHT for use with a Commander II 140
Previous to the Spacer, his tire and belt was very close, but rubbed slightly when rolling backwards (as I mentioned in an earlier post). He ran it like that for a while, but decided to install the spacer to put his mind at ease
So I don't want to hear that from you anymore. Go look at the Bike application in question.
