Default Headlamp Trim Ring won't fit on Daymaker

Hey guys I installed a daymaker on my 13 street glide tonight. When i went to put on my after market trim ring it was too big! It fit perfect on the stock assembly but not on this one with the new bracket. The stock headlight trim fits fine (I took one off my fathers bike) but this one https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...-11-6962799--1 doesn't seem to fit. Any suggestions on this or do I have to get the stock trim with the bottom screw?

I installed the visor style on my daymaker light and it said in the instructions to install it over the stock trim ring. Not sure if yours is this way or not.

Your leaving the stock trim ring on then putting the new one over that right? Pretty sure you need the stock trim ring under the one in your link.

I got the similar (Part Number 61400292) for my SGS and it definitely goes over the stock ring.

When I got the bike that ring in the link was on it. Underneath there was no stock ring. I believe that will work though but looks like I am going to have to go to Harley and get a stock ring. All well I’m only into the HD day maker for 140 got it used of a guy that had it for one year. His 400 lossy my gain! So far I’m ahead of the game haha

Thank you all! I'm heading up to HD on my lunch break to pick up the stock ring then going to install my current ring! I knew there was a way where it had to work. Gotta admit I cant believe the difference in light between the stock light and the HD Daymaker. Night and day (no Pun intended)

If the trim ring is loose and you don't want to put it over the old headlight ring, some on here have used dense weather stripping to take up the slop. I did have to fight putting the visor trim ring over the existing, but its on as good as its going to get. Good luck.

Even with the original trim ring in place, the visor ring sits somewhat sloppy and has movement if pushed on. I used some clear tubing cut to fit in outer ring to take up some of that slop and now fits snug. Poor design but looks good if can get to work and close up the notorious gap at the bottom

Mine is like that OP, it's a pathetic design at best by the MoCo. I tried to find an torx or allen head screw at lowes to be able to torque on it more than the phillips screw provided. Never found it though and I'm just living with the gap.
