Default New Hard bags (2014+) on older 08 and under bikes

Does anyone know if the existing brackets on 2008 and below Touring models can accept the new 2014 and up hard bags?

Will the saddlebag rail on the bottom line up?

I've found a deal on the FB marketplace ... 250 for a set. They would need a paint change.

The bike is a 2008 model .. not mine but a good friend has been looking for a deal. Yeah, I'm doing the research for him.

It has been done and there are several threads on doing it around here. As I recall a few tweaks were needed, but it sounds straight forward. I have the previous generation of bags on my early Evo and the same comment applies - I made some simple new mounting brackets for the front points of attachment.

Here ya go - a recent thread. Seems they can be fitted with no new hardware required.

Did it on mine (2013 FLHTCU). Just needed to modify the front bracket with a new hole. The rear lined up perfectly. Think I moved the hole about 1/2" over and loosened the brackets to align everything.

From the links, it appears the bracket from the older frame, 2008 and older fit even better than the 09-13. Thanks all!

My friend called two dealers locally. One told him the bags would fit fine and the other said the shocks would rub against the bag and ruin them.

What do you all think of that?

I put a new set of the '14 and up bags on my buddies 2006 Road King. No parts needed just adjustment of pin plates. Bags have been on for several thousand miles. No rubbing.
