Bike using oil ??
Yesterday I took my '05 Road King with 67k miles on her for a 425 mile cruise. I checked the oil level before I left and it was good. When I returned home , I had to add 3-4 ozs to get the level right. No leaks that I could find. Normally it doesn't use any oil, as long as I don't run the highway for that long. Ran fine the whole day. Anyone else use oil after steady 70- 80 mph running?.,,,

I had a couple of Evo's that would suck a little oil into the air cleaner if I ran them at high speeds (70 mph) on the highway for a ways, but overall they didn't use much oil at all.
Your usage works out to about a quart every 3000 to 3500 miles, running 70 to 80 mph. Thats probably pretty good for a bike with 67,000 miles on it. I wouldn't worry about it, it just means the bike isn't brand new. Check your air filter, if its still has the stock breather plumbing, and maybe make sure you have the right weight oil for the temperature. Just my suggestions.

I'd just keep an eye on it for a while. "I've read" that if you don't hold the bike level for a minute or so after shutting down all the oil doesn't drain back down to the crankcase causing an incorrect level reading.
Regardless, I'd monitor it for a while before I reached the conclusion it is consuming oil.

I'm the second owner, not sure when it was made but I've put 45k on this motor. No work done to it beside some 203 cams and cam shoes ect, and the standard stage 1 . This bike doesn't have an issue with oil dripping out the air cleaner like my other bikes had. I run 20/50 Valvoline oil in it year round. I guess I'll just watch it and see if it stays the same, or gets worse with time. Thanks.,,
