Default Single sided weatherstrip tape? (windshield trim)

I need to install a piece of windshield trim on the front of my fairing - I feel like I need to put some thin wetherstrip tape behind it, but I can only find 3M double-sided tape -
Do they make a tape like that with adhesive on one side (similar to what came on those pieces)
Maybe I am just not looking in the right places

Thanks

I used the " D " shaped silicone rubber with adhesive on the flat side , I got it at home depot in the weatherstrip area it is made by frostking . I also put it between my windshield bag and windshield to keep the dirt out

I thought about that - everything I found there today was too thick or double-sided - I'm going to look again tomorrow when I'm not in a hurry.

I have HD trim. It included chrome fasteners and rubber washers. The washers space the trim out enough that it doesn't touch, and it's not much trouble to put them in. I lost one, but got some rubber faucet washers at the hardware store, 3 for less than a buck. Still have them today.

A buddy used a sponge neoprene stripping on his detachable fairing for his King. Came in 3/4" x 1/8" in 50 ft roll. He used the rest to weather strip his house.

Good idea - I'm afraid if I use foam tape or weatherstripping, when it gets wet it will just m\hold moisture in there.

If you are purchasing a roll of weatherstripping from a hardware store be sure it is a closed cell foam (like the Amazon link above) and not open cell. The open cell will wick water in and provide a 4-5 day drip onto the radio and other electronics.

I think that has been the problem with what I saw at HD - all that regular foam will hold water - now I know what the difference is - thanks
