Default Hard foot brake issue

I have a 2010 Ultra Classic Limited, FLHTK, which has started having a hard brake pedal. I know the bike is currently under the brake fluid recall and will be taken in this weekend. Is that all it could be is the brake fluid? When I am riding and I initially push on the brake, it is hard as a rock and then it gives. At which time the foot brake works normally; until I stop for an extended time.

Assuming you have ABS, it sounds like the module. Rather than beat a dead horse yet again, I suggest you look at the several threads on this subject on this sub-forum for more information.

Sure do and I am cringing at the thought! I bought this thing used about 18months ago, I don't know what the previous owner did. I know I did the fluid flush myself last winter.. HD=HUNDRED DOLLAS

There's the bypass option, of which I know little...but depending upon your own mechanical acumen might be worth considering. I would be surprised if any shop or mechanic, independent or otherwise, would do that job, for liability reasons.

If the issue is the ABS module and you decided to replace the module, make sure you get the defective unit back and hang onto it.

I should hang onto the old module in case of a recall or lawsuit? How will I know it is the one that comes out of the bike? If there is ultimately a recall, they are not going to honor a repair already done; or will they?
