if you are looking at those 444’s in the $500 range, I believe you could do way better with the Bitubo’s or the JRI’s, both of which would come with preload and rebound adjustability, where the 444’s and the 944’s for that matter are only preload adjustable.....I did a lot of research before buying my shocks - feel free to shoot me a PM if you are interested in $$$ details.

Good luck

Which length and spring rate did you get?

I recommend you get the Progressive spring removal tool. It works great and you will be glad you have it.

I think you will be pleased.

The spring removal tool is essential to clean the shocks, which you should do periodically. Also, sometimes there can be some grit in the threads of the preload adjustment collar, even new out of the box. If you take the shock apart and wipe it down with some teflon spray setting the preload will be a lot easier.

Take a look at the Progressive 444s. They are well under your budget (easy to find under $500) and work great. I had Ohlins and didn't like them. I tried a buddy's bike that had 444HDs on it and liked the way it rides so I got myself a pair and sold off the Ohlins. I love my bike now.
Yup. The 944s are designed to lower the bike one inch w/o using 12" shocks. The 444s are $100 less money & retain stock ride height.

Pro-Action

No reason to go lower, I didn't!

It will be the best upgrade you ever did. Amazing the ride and handling improvement.
