Default Handlebars for throttle by wire bike

My 2013 RKC has TBW. Was at an Indie the other day looking for some beach bars to try out. He said he did not have any for TBW bikes. Guess I am showing my ignorance as I did not know there was a difference. Is it diameter or ?????

Or was he showing his ignorance and I should stay away? First I have heard of this

yes there is a difference. Throttle side has a cut out for the tbw sensor, cable drive has not.

He's not ignorant, there is a notching at the end on the right side where the TBW unit slides in. Handlebars for bikes prior to TBW don't have that. Ride Safe!

Not trying to hijack this thread, but how much more difficult is it to install grips on a TBW bike vs a bike with cables ?

It’s actually a lot easier. Just pop it on the gear and it’s done

Wild One has Beach Bars for your RK (see the link below). Tons of other choices as well. Great quality bars. I have them on 4 bikes

you can, if you were so inclined, modify the bars to fit your tbw. there is a template floating around that shows how much needs to be cut off, and then notched for your controller. here's one from flanders.

but, unless he is giving you one awesome deal (like free) then i would just order the bars that fit tbw in the first place.
