Good bike. I think he is getting the better part of the deal, but not by a lot.
Typically the problems I've seen on older bikes that sit a lot are minor like a leaking shifter seal and weeping gaskets if the bike hasn't been using synthetic oil and you decide to change to it. The stock Harley tires are terrible on rain groves. So, get something else when you change. The 88 is a hot rod with a stage 1 because it is so much lighter than todays touring bikes.

I would say it is a decent deal as the bike looks great. Make sure you ride it first to see if it is something you are going to be comfortable on it. Don't matter what we all say, make sure "it fits". I would also ride it with your wife on it, to make sure you and the wife are comfortable with that as well. Just purchased my first touring hd, and these are some of the things I/we "my boss" considered.

Guess
Never really heard a condition report of the car...... Is it a 20k mile garage queen or a 90 k with the nose sand blasted and a bunch of paint work done ? That would make a big difference for sure..... As far as the shark , it looks like a lady in the pics and from the previous owner if he is 75 ,my guess is it was not beaten on. The 95 inch kit would be a plus for me , as well as the chrome front end as these are items that I would do if it were mine. As far as the bike I would figure it in the $6500.00- $7500.00 range as it is the wrong time to buy bikes....that's for sure. But I will say you will be hard pressed to find one like that for $6500.00 with 20k on it.
