I've been seeing the same POS threads too and picked up the HD stainless round last weekend. If I get 2itthis weekend I'll take some measurments first and post some answers for y'all.

I just went to the local hardware store and for the rear its a 5/16 x 24 stainless, for the front I got an SAE threaded 5/16 and a nylon lock nut. FYI I didn't just change out the heim joints, I replaced the linkage with a thirty five dollar stainless linkage from Jireh Cycles.

24 TPI will work for both front and back but you will only need a lock nut on the front. The shift lever on the tranny is tapped. Be sure you measure the distance on the original shift linkage so you can get the heim joints the same distance apart. Don't forget the blue thread lock(Loctite)
