2015 Ultra Limited Low Rear Suspension?

2015 Ultra Limited Low Rear Suspension?
Just picked up a 2015 Ultra Limited Low this weekend. I was looking forward to purchasing this bike b/c it allows me to have my feet flat on the ground. I previously had 2013 Ultra Limited. I understand the 2015 was dropped one-inch front and rear. So as I was riding back home I was feeling the bumps a bit more than the last bike. One thing I know is stock suspensions suck especially in the rear. The next day the lady and I took a short ride and I was really feeling the littlest bumps. So on my last bike, I had Progressive 412HD 12.5" which made the bike much better riding with two up. I was wondering if I change the rear on the 2015 Low from 12" to 12.5" will that make the bike ride different to the point that performance is compromised? The front seemed to be pretty good with the bumps so I'm not looking to change those. Any help is appreciated.

Those stock air shocks suck, get a set of ohlins, you won't be sorry. They have the springs in different rates. Tell them your and your lady's weight and they will get you fixed up. They put mine on and had me and my lady get on and off the bike and made adjustments. I can't begin to describe the difference it made. My lady said it was the best money I have spent on the bike. Good luck.

Depending on your budget there are a lot of options out there for the rear end.

I have a 2015 Ultra Classic Low for exactly the same reason. Adjusting the pre-load is ESSENTIAL to the enjoyment of the bike. PO must have been a big dude, because they were adjusted ALL the way up, too firm. Setting it right for my small stature improves is immensely.
If you still want aftermarket, Progressive 944 is a reasonably priced premium shock that doesn't raise the rear end.

Vince, I didn't even think to check out the setting on the shocks. So today I realized they were set to lowest setting and adjusted them to about the middle line and took a ride around the block and it did feel much better, now I need the lady to ride with me and see if there need further adjustment.
Thank you all for your input.

I agree...It's really worth the time to read the owners manual cover to cover at least once. There's always at least a couple of things I learn when I do. I suggest you read about the security system so IF you ever lose your key fob you'll know how to start the engine....also read the Boom Box manual.
