Default Cam's & lifters, are they ok with pic

Thinking these should be ok to keep running, but part of me wants to replace. What do engine builders think. Part of me wants to replace but would rather just get it back together this weekend. Putting in a fueling hp pump and new tensioners. Bike and Cam's have 113,000, lifters and SE cam plate 38,000. Crank has just under .0015 inch run out.

I would definitely replace the lifters. If that’s a pit I see on the cam lobe then the cams are junk for sure.

Lifters should be considered a wear item, I’d replace them. Looking at the cam lobes, I’d replace them also.

Agree with the above. With that mileage - and since you're in there - and those pits on that cam, it's time to replaced whilst apart. Do it right while you can and call it good.

So the next question is which ones. I ride two up most the time & shift about 3,000 rpm for the norm sometimes 4,000 rpm. Like if I go with the Andrews 21, I need to keep a pick up for the cam senser for the MM. I do have some new take Harley lifters wondering if I should trust those.

the newer Harley lifters have been know to fail. Pick up a set of S&S standard lifters for around $130.

Yes indeed my lifters failed at only 20,000 mikes.

I used these lifters and they have been outstanding. No noise while running or on startup, even after sitting for 4 months. Also can't beat the price, about $17 a piece.

I don't have any personal experience with them yet, but these came highly recommended and I'll be installing the "SE" model in my build soon...

(scroll down about 1/3 of the way for lifters)
