Default Help with anti-seize

Guys, I pulled off my old mufflers. I had a tough time getting them off.
My new mufflers will be delivered tomorrow.
Guys here said to put anti-seize on, prior to installing the mufflers.

Thing is, I'm not familiar with it. I didn't see it at Home Depot but I did find it at Lowes. Please take a look at the link and let me know if this is okay to use. So I assume I'll apply it around the header where the muffler attaches.

Thanks!

I don't think that is what you want. I never used Anti-seize on my exhaust but if you do make sure it is high temp.

No, you’re going to want to hit an automotive store, rather than a home improvement store.

This is what you’re looking for. Amazon would probably save you some gas.

The copper anti-seize, as linked, will work better on your exhaust than the silver stuff. I don't know if your local mom 'n' pop will carry the stuff...

kryingame, if you haven't had it in your cabinet heretofore, you'll be surprised at how useful it is. I use it on axles (of course), spark plugs, inside my mufflers when sliding them onto the header, etc. Whether you use copper or silver, it's useful on anything that can seize over time. Be careful though.....it has a way of getting over everything you look at while holding it in your hands! I don't know how it does it other than magic, but it does.

The Permatex or that Loctite product are good. They're both copper based.

That stuff from Lowes might be okay, as it says it's good to 1800*F.
