Default Best Cell Mount/power option for a 17 Road King Special?

I'm not very fond of the HD cell phone mount, which attaches to the left handlebar grip mount.

What do you more experienced folks recommend for a good solid mount that securely holds your phone but is easy to insert and remove?

I'm also looking for thoughts regarding running power to it. Is it better to mount a USB to Battery Tender adapter under the seat and then just run a long lightning cable under the tank? Or would you recommend running a USB cable all the way from the battery tender up to the mount and use a short lightning cable? I'm hoping to find a solution that looks clean and professional and can stand up to the weather.

Thanks for helping out a newer HD rider!

Leave it on the charger next to the bed

Seriously, I just usually leave it in a pocket or on a cheapie mount on the bars. I like to avoid it if possible, as there are other more important things that need my attention when the bike is moving

Thanks Cristy! Is that clamped via springs or some type of adjustment ****?

Does it ever move around?

It utilizes a stainless steel spring mechanism and it's gripping power is 18 lbs per square inch.

Also, Smartphone/Personal Device holder portion is injection molded using DuPont Delrin Acetel resin.

This enables the mounting systems to be UV Proof, heat resistant and waterproof.

Kevin(the K in "DK") has been using this mount for a couple of years now and has never had any issues with it moving.

I'm not sure where on the bars you want to mount, but a buddy has this from the folks at TechMount (same as the DK Customs) on his King. That 3" bar extension is an extra piece.

For USB, you can tap into the ACC plug, I think it's behind the left side cover on the Rushmore bikes. My buddy has a '12 King and the ACC plug is under the seat, and runs the USB under the tank to the bars for power.

Thank you. I thought on a RK Special that the only place to tap into the power was the battery tender plug. Is that not correct?

Other places on the bike is available. That ACC plug is a dedicated plug and is switched (toggle switch behind the left side of nacelle cover), direct to battery (recommend using with a fuse), by the headlight is another source.

You can also get an H-D Y-splitter for that ACC plug to have two things hooked up to it.

I bought a Schwinn cell phone mount at Target, cost less than $15.
Used the USB to the battery tender for power on long trips.

I use a SlipGrip mount on my bikes and truck. They make one for every model phone and case options out there for $30 bucks. I use the one with the ram ball installed on it. I have a RAM mount on the handlebars (see link below). For power I ran what is listed in red above. However, I mounted it on the frame above the starter.
