Default Overlay fender with my tourpak

Got 02 ultra with tour pak and i picked up a Bad Dad overlay fender with embedded brake and tail lights. Been following on line as far as overlay fenders that it eliminates all the hardware that holds the tour pak being that it covers over the area. Is it possible to cut out areas needed to retain hardware for oem tour pak. Or what is all needed to keep tour pak and add overlay fender on rear??

The folks at Bad Dad are very responsive to questions. I would call them and find out what they think on this. With that, any mod is possible, and it should not be hard to cut the fender. But, it isn't anything that I have done, so take it with a grain of salt.

They sell the correct mounts for the fender, but they are $$. I have the fender you mentioned and just made my own quick release mount.

I didn't cut the fender at all. I started by mounting the quick release rubber studs on the frame rail where they wouldn't interfere. Then out came the cardstock paper to make the rails and top plate. Transfer it to 1/8" plate, cut it all out, weld it all together, paint and done.

Took me about 25 or so hours to build, very time consuming to build anything from scratch. But my total cost was close to $0 because I already had everything I needed. I'll take some pics next time I pull the bags off
