Default Street Glide Tires- brand and bias v radial?

So I need to replace the tires on my '10 Street Glide... It looks like the Metzler ME888 and Michelin Commander IIs are widely available and popular. Both available as bias ply tires.

Does anyone has any input on either of the brands? The stock Dunlop D407T costs a fortune and are bias-ply as well. The tires I'm replacing were the second set of tires on the bike, the Metzler ME880s, but it doesn't look like they are as widely available anymore.

I presume I should be sticking with bias tires, right?

Thanks!

I have a 2010 RKC and replaced my original 16" Dunlop wide whites with 18" Dunlop American Elites (and new wheels) and am extremely happy with the results. Ride quality is as good as the originals, and handling is a littler sharper due to the 18" lower profile sidewalls.

I assume that Dunlop AEs should be competitively priced vs. Michelin and Metzler....

Yeah, the American Elites are similarly priced with the other two brands. It'll be a decision between the three.

I believe they are discontinuing the 880's and the 888's were the new version of those tires. Personally, I LOVE my scorcher's on my 2014 street glide. Good balance of wear and enough stickiness for my aggressive cornering.

Most tyres suitable for our baggers are bias ply, but there are some suitable radials. I have bias front and radial rear on my Glide, both Avon.

My riding is 95% solo, conservative riding. The miles I put on are a mix of local pleasure riding and touring (interstate riding). I'm in Central California (no rain) and I don't ride in the rain unless I'm caught in it during a long-distance touring trip (again, solo).

I have been running 888's since they came out. Fantastic mileage and very good handling
