I've had J&M's in several bikes over the years and they are excellent and the new ones (w/seperate tweeter) are even better.

I have no personal experience with the other, although many seem to like them.

I like myJ&M's. They are a major improvement over the stockers!

I had both...the keepers are J&Ms. The Hogtunes had more bass and if loud enough, mine started to rattle. The new JMs with the tweeter have more treble, less bass but don't rattle if you crank it up. Provided a clearer, crisp sound (Depending on the music you listen to). My $.02....

Rider ,,,,,,

whichever brand you decide upon, it is important for the 1998-2005 Harley audio systems that the speaker resistance be at least 7-8 ohms as measured with an ohm meter ,,,,, as this affects the amount of current going thru the radio's amplifiers and how much heat is produced ,,,,

some get away with less resistance than this without problems, but the Harley radio for those years is spec'd for a speaker resistance of 8 ohms and amplifier shut-down/failures can occur with speaker resistance significantly less than that ,,,,,

certainly I promote the J&M's,for obvious reasons ,,,, all of which I have posted here many times before ,,,,

I had the Hog Tunes in my 05 RG and had numerous problems due to the proper impedance. Pez tried everything to get them to work right including replacing them and we just could solve the problem at the time. So I went to the J&M's and they have been great!!!

Since then I understand that Pez has an Amp that will supposedly fix the issues I was having on my RG with the radio heating up and cutting out.
