Default honest feedback on tires

I picked up a set of enforcer wheels to have powder coated for my 09 road glide. These wheels came with a brand new (stickers still on them) Shinko 777 Heavy Duty tires. Putting aside all the "cheap tires" comments, I'm wondering if anyone has any real feedback on these tires. It seems that all the negative comments are coming from people that have never run them. With the money being spent to powder coat, I'm trying to figure out if it's going to cost me more in the long run to replace them, or later depending on how much mileage they're good for.

On a trip summer ( annual run to the U.P. ) a good friend had a Shenko come apart. He had just put it on a few weeks before we left. He rides a Triumph. He had his gal on the back heading up I-75. No one got hurt but it was squirrely getting it stopped. Shenko? No thanks.

Currently running the shinko hd777 on mine and my wifes tourers. I have 7k on mine and am putting new rims on this spring and will be buying another set. At 7k can't even tell they are worn. Slight flat spot in rear when run low on psi thats all. Handle great and cost less. Only reason not swapping tires going to keep the spoke rims also.

I ran them a few years back , they seemed like great tires then about 6K in their performance fell off , by 8 or 9K they were done. I've run MCII's or AE's ever since.

I haven't run them yet but will be soon--after talking with some people the sense I get is they aren't a bad tire, but softer compound than most that maybe sticks a little better but doesn't last as long.

Tires, brakes, and other safety-related items to me are far too critical to go “cheap” and those Shinko-brand certainly fit the bill. But hey, it’s not my money or bike.

You’re new wheels will look awesome though so...

not everything that's cheap is a bad product, that's why I was looking for real time feedback from people who have used them, not necessarily the its cheap so I know it's bad even thought I've never used it.

If you use Search for Shinko in the title there are not many threads about them, 82 in fact so HDF may not be a good place to ask about them! You have them, so use them, I can't imagine they are so bad you will regret doing so, but you may change brand next time. That's the worst that can happen!

I'd run them it they were free. Even if you only get 7k miles out of them, that's 7k miles, before you need to buy whatever tire you want.
