Go to Advance Auto and for $16 you can replace it with the 128db model.

It amazes me that the same problem exsist with so many people at the same time.
My 07 UC just started the same intermittent crap. Parts guy said to take it in for new one.
I was wondering if anyone has used the Harley air horn in the parts catalog? And how do you like it.

THis happened to my buddy 2 weeks back when we went to get our bikes inspected. Come to find out the bolt had chimmied its way off of the connection. Thus it was not always working. Funny thing, is we found the bolt sitting right on the top of his engine! Wonder how long it was sitting there for. Could not have been that long seeing we were just blasting down the highway on the way to the Harley shop.
Moral is, check the bolt and the connection to see if it is all together!

Even though bike is under warranty, wanted something better than the stock plastic toot.

Picked up a FIAMM Freeway Blaster Low Tone, F 72112 at Advance Auto

Metal horn, not plastic, 130d, for around $15. Installed in a few minutes and no more "goose with a cold" sound.

Glad I did it.

Well, I took my bike up to the dealer and they were going to give me another horn, like the one I have. I said, "How about taking the $$$ for another horn, like I already have, and apply it to the cost of a HD Air Horn?" The service manager considered it for a moment and said "Okay". So, they've ordered the air horn and when it comes in they'll give me a call.

I'll let you all know how it turns out later.

In my experience on metrics, I found that horns are very voltage sensitive. So if you have a bad ground, as some have suggested, that could cause your problem. Sometimes it feels tight but isn't quite good enough. Kind of like the isuues you can hav3 with a battery post. It's worth a look.

I put the Fiamm low-tone Freeway Blaster in the place of my stocker, then a Freeway Blaster high-tone on the frame next to the right saddlebag. Can't tell they're there- till I hit the button!
Man, those babies will light up any distracted, cell-phone yakking cager and are louder than any of the airhorns available, and only cost about $35 a set...
