Default Chrome vs polished rotors with chrome wheel

I'm ordering a 21" chrome front wheel and not sure if I should get chrome or polished rotors. I've read that the chrome ones can affect braking and might chip/scratch, and that the polished ones will not match the chrome wheel that well.
Thanks in advance

I would go with polished...with the heat, flexing etc. you are just asking for issues with chrome on the discs..

Still a concern with floating rotors on chrome carriers? Hopefully not...

I have performance machine wheels and rotors. Only the center hub of the rotor is chrome. The part of the rotor that the brake pad rides on is not coated. If you need a new rotor you can just replace the outside ring. I've had my wheels and rotors for 5 yrs, have not had a problem with chrome or anything else.

I’m looking at the PM wheels also. What kind of finish is on the part that the pad rides on? And, if it’s not chrome like the wheel and the inner rotor, does it look out of place/mismatched?

Its a machine natural finish.. Does not rust. You do notice the difference, but I don't really know what else you could do or have. even if they were solid chrome/polished were the brake pad rides it would eat the finish off. Look at PM wed site, they have pics of rotors. Sorry haven't ever loaded pics on forum or i would take some for you.

If you are getting PM chrome wheels definitely get their matching rotors in chrome since the polish will not look nice against the chrome wheels. Only the inner carrier that matches the wheel design in polish or chrome the actual friction area where the brake pad makes contact is stainless steel similar to what the picture above looks like.

Definitely get the chrome rotors. As others have said, the braking surface isn't chromed.

The chrome ones do look much nicer and the rotor surface is not chromed.... as others have stated. The polished rotors won't stay nice, just like polished front forks don't stay nice.
