Default Another option for getting rid of the antenna

Well the short little rubber antenna I had was a POS, So i went to radio shack got a plug, and a FM antenna like you put on your stereo at home(double wire in the shape of a T). Fixed the ends so I could attach to the plug. I live about 25 miles from all the Radio stations In Birmingham. With my bike sitting in my Upper garage, the rubber Antenna would stop on 2 stations in the scan mode. Installed the one I made under the fairing, wired tied the ends to the speakers and coiled up the excess and wire tied it to keep it neat. reinstalled the fairing and the scan mode stopped on 17 stations. I was very pleased. Cost 8.49 tax included. And no more antenna on the back of my street glide.

Cycle gear I think is the name of it. I got it the day I got the bike. And it was terrible. I put the one I made on the top of the radio as well, and just tied the ends to the speakers inside the fairing.

Same here, but it was 19 bucks not 10. Works great.

Do you have a model of that Radio Shack antenna? I'd like to get the same thing and try it...

I just installed the "Tune Trapper" in my Street Glide tonight. Seems to be picking up everything the whip did with no problem.

Just as a note I also had to repair my right side fairing bracket on the top section of the bracket. So while doing it I did both sides even though the left one had not broken yet. Hopefully my reinforcement of the bracket will out last the HD version.

Ride Safe,

Mike
