I went with the Throttle-X American Made battery offered on Amazon three years ago. I will report back on how great it is when it goes bad. I ride in Arizona heat and I do not use a battery tender.

AGM of course but why mail order. Pretty much throws any quick warrant issues out the window on the road. Check Walmart. There auto batteries are excellent. They have a AGM for my Softail. I had one that lasted almost as long as a Harley dealer one. Would have lasted as long but I do not nurse weak batteries on theses long stroke two cylinders. They bang with a weak battery. 90% of the compensators are replaced because of weak batteries. A real money maker for mechanics. Would have gotten another Walmart battery but had a $50 discount at AutoZone I needed to do.

I don't know much about batteries but the salesman at my local Batteries Plus Store was touting the lightweight LITHIUM batteries. Is that type sutible for HD's?.....they sure are expensive!....but also feather lite.

Not for a minute would I knock that choice but speaking for myself,, its a Harley,, a legendary low speed torquemonster,,, how light does the battery need to be ? Also, if I pay 3 x the price for a utility component I need to see 3 x the longevity and 3 x the warranty to justify it, otherwise I'd buy what I have now and replace it 2 more times over the same period, but thats just me.

This is my only beef with Yuasa batteries

From http://www.yuasabatteries.com/faqs.

How is Warranty handled on a Yuasa battery?

Yuasa Battery, Inc. does not handle warranty issues directly. All inquiries should be directed to the dealer where the battery was purchased. The dealer's distributor sets the warranty period and handles all warranty claims. The warranty time frame and terms are not specified by Yuasa.

From Amazon

Product Warranty: For warranty information about this product, please click here [PDF ]

This is the last paragraph from the pdf

Manufacturers’ warranties may not apply in all cases, depending on
factors such as use of the
product, where the product was purchased, or who you purchased the product from. Please
review the warranty carefully, and contact the manufacturer if you have any questions.

Seems to be a bit of a run around.
