Default Burly Easyboy Lite Clutch kit

I have been running my build with the SE heavy clutch since 2008. I have about 55,000 miles on this build and this clutch. I didn't mind the clutch pull when it was first installed. As the years have gone by and I am not as strong as I used to be, pulling the clutch, especially in stop and go traffic started to become more and more difficult for me. I rode a stock bike at the end of season last year and it was hard for me to believe how much harder my clutch lever pulls than stock. I decided I had to do something.

I read on here about variable pressure clutches and decided that is what I wanted to try. I went to talk to a trusted indy to get his opinion and he convinced me to try the Burly Easyboy lite clutch kit first. It is just a replacement part. It replaces the arm that the clutch cable attaches to. It doesn't affect the clutch lockup at all. It costs about $30. I took his advice and tried it. It works very well.

I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to reduce the amount of effort it takes to pull the clutch lever.

After that mileage I also suggest you replace your cable. I used a H-D Diamondback, but I hear the Barnett cable is also very good. Having installed mine I actually removed the Clutchlite device I had installed previously.

Good advice, but the clutch cable I am running is only a year old. I changed it when I changed bars last winter.

A year old with 55,000 miles on it. I replaced my clutch cable and could not believe how much easier it was than stock. Of course a cable will cost a bit more than $30.

I guess my post was misleading. A year ago I changed bars and replaced the clutch cable. I rode about 7,000 miles last year. The total miles on this engine build and clutch spring is about 55,000 miles.

I just recently changed my bars and cables as well. The new cable is a Barnett. It's a heavy pull. I'm going to spring for the Lite pull kit as well.

I put one on my King. Pretty good investment for the cost. I’m young but due to racing dirt bikes my forearms pump up and I have a hard time pulling the heavy springs on mine, especially when in stop and go traffic. Go for it.

I installed one on my 2000 Heritage. Clutch pull went from 20 lbs to 13.5 lbs measured with a fish scale. Easy to install also.

only pain is rethreading the cable into the cover. Other than that it’s smooth sailing
