So I was researching this part further for a future project (when bike is apart)

The little plastic piece you put in by the clutch lever......my fear is this will crack over time through torque cycles (pulling/releasing lever), freeze/thaw cycles (winter/summer in many states). I am wondering why this isn't made of a steel/aluminum type of material for more longevity.

Can anyone comment on that? or suggest a better, more improved part? (even if its higher cost) Talking 2008-13 touring here. Thanks.

The one I received was aluminum. I ended up not using it, but I'm going to watch that video and see how to adjust the cable using the spacer and maybe I'll end up adding it.

B17-117. I took it out when I put in a AIM VPC. Thinking about putting it back in when service time arrives. Just to see if it gets a lil easier. I installed a AIM VPC with stock 103 Spring.

12 King. Maybe I didn't adjust the cable correctly, but it was tight after installing the kit and I couldn't get the black spacer on. I'll try it again.
