I thought I wanted 10" monkey bars. Reading on here, everyone wished they had gone higher. I listened and I'm really glad I did. My hands are a little above the fairing, but not much. It still kicks the majority of the air over them.

Default Cheap Advice - look closely at this

Do yourself a favor. Spend $10 and buy some PVC. I think I used 1 inch
I measured the width of the stock bar at the base. Then I cut pvc to match that width taking into consideration the additional with of a 90 degree elbow. Then I measured from the neck of the frame just in front of the tank to the top bend in the stock bar. I then cut a couple of different lengths of pvc to be the uprights so that I had +2, +4, +6 inch versions from stock.

I then pieced them each together, standing the pvc on the neck of the frame and using zip ties to the stock bar to hold in place. This allowed me to sit on the bike and actually hold the pvc at the height the new bar would be. That allowed me to easily decide which size to buy. I was determined to NOT be one of the "should have gone taller" crowd.

A $1500 project is not something to guess about.l

i went with Yaffe 10's on my SG. Wishing for 12's now. I'm 5'8", still gotta reach. I'm thinking the 12's would allow me to pull them back to me a bit more.

I was finally able to get in some seat time this week. So far, I love the 12" twin peak bars. Can't wait till I can get in a good long ride in, but after an hour of so or riding, they are really comfortable

I have the 8" Twin Peaks. I really like the stock height but hated where they positioned my hands and they made my shoulder blades/elbows feel "pinched" together. I installed the 8" and pushed them forward. Very happy.....although if I was doing it over again I would go 10" and pull them back closer to me just a hair. If I do it with the 8's I lose some height.
