I bought my 07 EGC used and the first time I pulled the fairing off, the 2 outer nuts were stripped. Epoxy worked for a couple years but they eventually broke out. I've taken the fairing off a number of times to mess with the forks, install stuff etc.

On the second repair of the outside ones I made some special nuts out of 303 stainless and and a wedge washer out of Delrin. I drilled the holes all the way through and pressed in the nuts from the back side with the offset washer..

I finally blew out the center one. I cut what was left of the fairing so it was square then drilled the remain hole out to 5/16.. I then made a nut out of a piece of brass and epoxied it into the remaining hole.. Sorry don't have pics for that..

I cleaned mine , sanded the outside , wiped with brake kleen then screwed in a long bolt with a lite coating of grease on the threads , put a piece of hose over it (about 1/4 inch clearance on each side and filled with all craft epoxy , got epoxy at plumbing supply let cure for 48 hrs removed bolt and filed it flat . that was5 years and 30,000 miles ago no more issue GOOD LUCK !!
