My brother andI areheading to Altoona, Pennsylvania and then possibly to York to pay homage! We are riding to Buffalo andthen we arelooking for some sweet roads from Buffalo to Altoona. Any suggestions?

 

Hmmm.... I've done that exact trip a few times by CAR, but never done it on the bike. Let me ask my Pops. He'll probably know a good route.

219 South out of Buffalo area to 255
255 to I80 E
I80E to 53
53 to 350
350 to I 99
I99 to Altoona
I haven't traveled all these roads but a lot of them and i generally know the country.

 

drop into pa the most direct route... look for route 6 it runs east t west.... very very nice road....


ok i got it down 60 through jamestown......into warren pa 6 east from therein kane 321 onto 219 south... run 219 untill 22east... less han 20 miles and ur in altoona.....219 and route 6 are both very nice roads.

 

Thanks guys...any idea of riding time from Buffalo to Altoona....any recommendations on accomodations in or near Altoona? Don't really car about price.

theres a ton of hotels in altoona ... pic one.... a leizure ride from jamestown to altoona i would guess 4 hours...

Leaving this Sunday, the 24th, returning to Toronto on the 26th.

 

The route AISTQM suggested is good. I was going to suggest a side trip to the R&R hall of fame, but that's not much time.

Too bad you are going to miss the Ride for Sight from Whitby to Trenton though. Maybe next year.
