Well your handle bars part # is 56902-08 . They have a 12in Rise With a 5in pull back. 11.25in base width. Generally speaking you can go up 2in. without changing cables. But if you pull the bars back like I did they will need to be longer. I put 14in mini apes.

Are you saying that the stock bars are the 56902-08 or are you saying to try the 56902-08

I have a Tallboy seat which moves me back 2 inches (long legs). So I needed more pullback. The Heritage-style bars did it for me. 57,000 miles later, I still like them.

I'm ordering some Factory 47 Malos in the near future for the Road King, same height I think as stock bars but the pullback is more towards me and a little wider. I demo'd them at their shop and think they'll work just fine for a guy that used to be 5'9" but is closer to 5'8" thanks to time and gravity with a 30" inseam if that helps

Don't cheap out. Buy the most comfortable bars and the required cables and wires. You might be able to get away with stock cables, etc, but then you'd still be stuck with those hideous garden hoses, and they'd be all stretched and weird.

Must be a mistake with that rise spec.

I switched to Wild Ones bars with 10" rise and they are substantially taller than the stock bars.
