Default MAYBE I SHOULD KEEP THIS A SECRET

I was given an offer on my 2005 Road King this past week and took it. It's now history. And, to make things even more complicated, at least for the guys I work with at the shop, I bought a 2007 Gold Wing. I'll still be a regular here, but, I need to learn a lot about the Wing too. Please don't launch any missles my way - I was ready to change and it is normal for me to keep a bike for a couple of years and then move on. Hope I can still contribute - feel free to ask any questions regarding Wing vs RK comparisions.

Enjoy it... Have had 4 GW's in the past but have always kept a HD in the garage also.. Put over 500K on them - Great Touring Bike... But I wouldn't trade my New Roadie and step back to a Wing now...

I dont blame you. Everyone like something different.
There are no POS bikes made today. Just different preferences. Enjoy your new ride.

I've heard that the Gold Wing is one of the best touring bikes in the world and is respected by many Harley owner's. I looked at a new Gold Wing a few months back and didn't like the large plastic dash cover or the fact that you can't remove the travel pack or side bags to make it look more customized (what you see is what you get). If I were to trade in my Road King on a touring bike, it would probably be a Electra glide Classic or Ultra. JMO

While most of us would question your competency in making decisions concerning your continued well-being, I am sure everyone wishes you the best.

As hot as new harleys are these days, Im leaning toward water cooled, but think it will be a vrod. wingers are kool, I hate the seating/footpeg setup, if it was like a harley I might like one too.

Most folks go the other way from Wing to HD but whatever works for you. I would not think this would be a grat place to try to convince others to switch though. I wonder though if your decision to hang around here may mean you are not sold 100% on your choice. I hear they are great touring bikes. I hope your experience is pleasant.

Ted, Keep the rubber on the road and the breeze on your knees my friend. If we ever pass I'll be sure to wave. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
