Not relative to your issue at hand, but it’s better to simply leave it on the tender along with the other winter storage preparations, and not start it weekly. JMO

I agree. I would not dry start once a week with thick oil. Park it and forget it until riding season.

Winterize before storage (most change their fluids), treat the fuel and put on a tender. Leave till Spring.

Firing it up will do more harm then good.
Remindes me of the Banker across the street who got a Corvette and would start it up and race it then shut it off. Started puffing a little lil smoke and after awhile was pushing clouds of blue smoke. He pretty much destroyed the engine sitting in the garage.
